Twisted Fairy Tales
have hit the spotlight with shows like Grimm
and Once Upon a Time, and it
couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I love twisted fairy tales, but
these aren’t your child’s fairy tales. I twist them for adults. I didn’t start
writing them in response to the new wave of movies and TV shows. I started
because I’ve always loved fairy tales. Where else can you find shape-changing
princes or evil witches or tales with happy-ever-afters? Why, paranormal
romance!
Paranormal romance
for adults, that is. While I love children’s tales, my twists are full of adult
entertainment mixed with a dose of the paranormal and laced with just a hint of
a traditional tale. How do I make it work? Move the traditional tale out of the
past and into a modern Colorado Rocky Mountain setting. Change the little girl
into a full grown woman who is also the wolf. And add in a hunky forest ranger
for her to devour instead of the woodsman.
Keep some of the
traditional elements and spice them up. Red’s cape becomes a hoodie and Red’s
fear changes into an exciting adventure where she calls the shots by deciding
that a one-night stand might just be what a good girl needs. But what happens
when her lover discovers he’s falling in love with a werewolf, and that the
real big bad wolf is her brother?
That’s how I twist
a child’s tale into an adult adventure that will have you looking forward to
the second book, nearly ready and waiting in the wings. If you thought Red was
an adventure, look out for what Snow White’s foray into the world of the adult.
Evil stepmothers watch out!

Fraternizing with humans is taboo, but when feisty werewolf Red
runs into hunky new forest ranger Evan Brewster, she jumps on the opportunity
to let loose her desires. Evan is stoked when he meets the petite red haired
hottie, and combined with his new discovery of wolves in Colorado, thinks his
career and life are made. Then Red pushes him away, her hostile brother
threatens his life, and things begin to spiral out of control. Caught between
her sexy lover and her pack can Red trust Evan with her secrets, or must she sacrifice her human lover and her heart?
